I’ve been an LPC and art therapist for awhile now but I’ve been an artist most of my life. Being able to blend art and therapy has been personally and professionally rewarding. We can talk through your emotional struggles. But for clients interested in exploring a nonverbal means of expression through the art process, art therapy can be the shift that is needed for change and healing.
I have a master’s degree in art therapy. I am a registered and board certified art therapist, a licensed professional counselor and I am trained in play therapy. My work experience includes both medical and mental health settings. My goal is to offer support and to challenge you to discover peace in the unfolding and process of life. I see children as young as five, adolescents and adults in all stages of life. If we agree to work together, we will work collaboratively to address the issues you want to address and discover ways to cope with overwhelming emotions that are helpful for you. My work with clients has included help with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationships, stress, trauma, childhood issues , individuals dealing with medical and health issues and life transitions. I approach therapy from a client centered, strengths based and experiential viewpoint. I use narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with clients to help them process their life challenges and discover solutions that fit them. For clients who are inspired to work experientially I use art therapy. Most importantly, I will listen without judgement. When I am not working, I enjoy making art, listening to music, reading, practicing yoga and spending time with my dog.

I have always been fascinated with how love works. We all want love and connection. And we all have things in our lives and our pasts that prevent us from giving and receiving love fully. My Passion and training is helping people to be "in relationship" in a health and fulfilling way. I want to help you to see how you fit in the context of your life, culture, family, friends, and work. In therapy, we will work together to remove barriers and empower you to create more fufilling connections with the people in your life.
While my credentials, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, implies that I work with couples and families, I also work with individuals who want to feel more empowered and fulfilled in their social connections both inside and outside of family. That often means learning to love yourself better so you can have healthier relationships with others. With couples, I use the Gottman Method which is a research-based approach designed to help couples “disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.” I particularly love working with couples preparing for marriage using SYMBIS, Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts, to create a strong, passionate, lifelong relationship. With families, I use structural family therapy to create an enviroment where parents feel empowered and children feel safe, supported, and nurtured. I especially enjoy working with blended families as they redefine relationships, recognize their difference roles and helping stepparents find their place in the family. I have found my purpose in counseling. At the end of the day, I can reflect back on what I have done and think “this is who I am”. I like who I am when I’m with my clients. I feel joy when I am able to help that person, that couples or that family understand who they are in a whole new way and like what they see. Outside the therapy room, I love being with people and building a life of community and deep relationships. At home, I also enjoy gardening and being in nature, especially near water. I read a lot. I love learning and reading a lot of self-help books but I also really enjoy fiction. My recent favorites is Lessons in Chemistry.

I’ve worn many hats throughout my career, from guidance counselor to case manager to therapist. At one point I owned my own business specializing in trompe l’oeil murals and decorative paintings in homes and businesses.
Throughout my career – both as a counselor and as a muralist – I’ve come to realize that it’s not about my goals or my expectations. It’s about my clients and what they hope to achieve, whether in their home or in counseling.
I began my career as a psychiatric technician working with kids and later in a group home for adults. I fell in love with the work and the concept of hope and change. Depression, trauma, substance abuse, and unhealthy relationships are often debilitating. Sometimes, the coping that serves you in the short-term can manifest into lifestyles that do not serve you in the long-term. After 25 years in the mental health field, I believe in our capacity to navigate and learn from our difficulties. You are the expert on yourself. As a client, you can expect a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere for you to heal, develop insight, and move forward. I am open minded and relational in my approach. I am credentialed with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing PEER Assistance Program and Oklahoma Pharmacists Helping Pharmacists. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, gardening, and live theatre.

I believe in empowering my clients to do the work they need to do to achieve their goals. I believe that the things that are worth having in life are often challenging. I am here to support you as you move out of your comfort zone and toward what you want for your life.
I specialize in working with young people under 12 and adults. For me, there is nothing more fulfilling than helping young people navigate the challenges of life and overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. I am client-centered in my approach, which means that I will work with you to develop a plan to help you move forward toward your personalized life goals. We will work together in a way that stretches you but is manageable for you. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I specialize in helping people recover from trauma trauma, anxiety, and substance abuse. I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing to help my clients achieve their goals. One of the most gratifying experiences as a therapist is when my clients trust me enough to open up and share their deepest fears and concerns. It's a privilege to be the person they turn to for support and guidance. When a client says, "I've never told anyone that before," I know we're starting from a place of honesty and vulnerability, which is essential to the therapeutic process. Working with people is my passion. I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment where you can grow, heal, and thrive. If you're ready to take the first step toward that future, I'm here to support you.

As your therapist, my goal is to build an authentic and trusting relationship with you, and to share in your successes along the way. I will honor your voice and choice. I will let you decide what feels most important to explore. The best moments for me are when a client has an "aha moment." That's when you realize the power of your own autonomy and control in the therapy process. It's a powerful moment, and I'm honored to be there with you.
As an LGBTQ+ specialist, I specialize in trauma work, anxiety, and depression. I help clients 13 and older through the therapy process using Humanistic, Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Emotion-Focused theories as therapeutic models to help clients strive for growth and balance. Additionally, I am trained in CPT, TF-CBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. My ultimate goal is to help clients be their authentic selves while navigating complex issues, like state legislation that impacts my trans clients. My journey to become a therapist started in high school when I took psychology as an elective and was immediately drawn to the representation of mental health in the media. Watching the movie Sybil showed me how a therapist could make a huge difference in someone's life. Around the same time, my best friend was struggling with relationship problems and appreciated my unbiased listening skills. It was then that I knew mental health was where I wanted to be, helping people navigate the overwhelming emotions of life. Seeking therapy can often be a hard choice. I work with many clients who are terrified to take a step in any direction and are not sure where to start. By helping you see your authentic self and providing an objective perspective, we can begin your journey toward a better place. I feel privileged to help clients discover a life with fewer barriers and more joy. If you're ready to take the first step towards healing and growth, I am here to help.

My resume – like my life – is a rich tapestry of experiences. I traveled extensively with my husband while he was in the military, which gave me the opportunity to meet people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. It also taught me flexibility. When my husband retired from the
military, we moved back to Tulsa where I worked as a teacher and counselor for private and public schools, including my alma mater, Will Rogers High School. I worked with students, as well as their teachers, parents, and the school administrators. All these experiences helped to shape my holistic approach to therapy. I believe in addressing the whole person – mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I work with women, men and couples 16 and older, as well as Veterans and their families. I help my clients address a variety of issues including anxiety, stress, depression, grief/loss, trauma, and PTSD and give my clients the tools they need to enhance their lives. If we agree to work together, you can expect eclectic combination of therapeutic models including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Anxiety Reduction, Stress Relief, and Narrative. If your Christian faith is a source of strength and comfort for you, I can incorporate that into the counseling process, as well. But most importantly, we will talk regularly about what’s working and not working for you and adjust as needed. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy traveling with my husband, sailing, reading and spending time with my family.

I became a therapist after teaching voice and music lessons for 35 years. While that may sound like an abrupt career change, it was a natural transition for me. My students often wanted to discuss the issues of their lives with me and found that I was an understanding and empathetic
listener who was able to help them find hope again. Teaching vocal music also helped me to understand and truly observe how much we communicate nonverbally through body language and tone, in addition to our words. As a therapist, I work with individuals 14 and older who have experienced trauma, are struggling with anxiety, phobias, PTSD, depression, and grief. I also work with individuals who have been diagnosed with personality disorders, or mood disorders such as Bi-Polar Disorder. I am experienced and comfortable with a diversity of ages, genders, lifestyles, experiential histories, cultures, and nationalities. If we agree to work together, you can expect a ccombination of Person-Focused Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am certified as a Trauma Treatment Specialist, as well as in Thought Field Therapy, which is highly effective in treating trauma and other challenges. My goal is to help you learn to better manage emotions such as stress or anger and recover from divorce or other life losses. We will explore together how you want your life to be different and agree on the best way to get there. I have an adorable partner – my therapy dog in training, Shadow. She is a “bringer of joy” and helps my clients feel more open and relaxed. She is wonderfully attuned to feelings and will sometimes sit with you as you release your feelings through words, tears, or even silence – all without judgement.

When you walk through our doors, I'm often the first face you'll see. I love helping people access the care they need and seeing the positive impact therapy can have on their lives.
As part of my role, I work closely with our Care Navigator, Zaynah, to ensure that our clients are matched with the right therapist. We understand that everyone's needs are different, and we want to make sure you're connected with the best person to help you thrive. It’s my job to make sure your claims get processed accurately and that you understand the cost associated with your care. I enjoy building relationships with our clients, insurers and therapists, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. One of the best parts of my job is that I never get bored. There's always something new to learn or a new challenge to tackle. I understand the value of therapy and have seen the positive impact it can have on people's lives. As one of our clients put it, "Wow, this actually does work!" That's the kind of feedback that makes my day, and it's why I'm so passionate about what I do. It's rewarding to be a part of that journey and to know that we're making a difference in people's lives.

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping people become their best selves. I use a client-centered, strengths-based approach as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Together we will explore your strengths; the ones you know and the ones you haven't discovered yet. We will harness those strengths to work through past trauma or other difficulties and overcome present challenges to create your best self.
As a board-certified registered art therapist, I believe that understanding and healing can often be found outside of words. Sometimes the words aren't quite right, or enough, to explore what we know or feel. By creating art, we can explore thoughts, feelings and experiences more richly. You don't have to consider yourself artistic or creative to find this process valuable. In fact, sometimes it is even more impactful for those who don't usually express themselves this way by helping you see or feel things from a new perspective. I find art is especially helpful with children. Often, the kids I work with may not have the words they need to tell me what they are feeling or thinking. But they can draw it. Or use fabric or color to communicate what is going on inside. We can also build a deeper awareness of their triggers, and become empowered to use new, constructive coping tools for those stressful moments. My corgi, Abraham, is my therapy partner in training. Hammy brings unconditional love and warmth to our sessions. It sometimes may be easier to tell him your story while I eavesdrop. He is a great listener and brings an enthusiastically happy yet calm presence to our sessions. He has been petted, hugged, and cried on. In his off time, he loves playing fetch with his stuffed toys. I am a First-Generation Chinese American, born and raised in Tulsa. I find extra joy in spending time with my husband and our dogs; Callie, our Labrador Retriever, and our Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Abraham and Poppy. I love (actually, I am obsessed with) cuddling with my pups and expressing my gratitude to them every day, they make my heart so full! When I’m not working, I also enjoy drawing, trying new foods, and traveling to different countries. Some of my favorite places are Vietnam, Mexico, Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand.

I’ve always wanted to understand people and connect with them so they feel heard and seen. I believe that we all benefit when we pause and reflect on our lives. Sometimes, however, we need a trained person to help us find the pause button. It’s amazing how just one hour out of our busy lives can help us gain perspective.
After earning my master’s degree in social work, I spent the first 20 years of my career working in end-of-life care. First at an end-stage cancer hospital in New York City and later at a Tulsa hospital’s palliative care team. I transitioned to private practice in 2007 so I could do more in-depth work with a wider variety of people. Also, I feel like I have a knack for helping folks examine and process the narrative to their life. Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to walk alongside people who were ill, grieving, or struggling with any number of life’s obstacles. I specialize in grief, stress, anxiety, depression, transitions, parenting, and chronic illness. I work with individuals who have been hurt by or are struggling with religion, and I am LGBTQ+ friendly. If we work together, I’ll help you create an individualized care plan that may include talk therapy, mindfulness, narrative, and/or cognitive-behavioral therapy (to name a few). I don’t see therapy as me diagnosing you, but rather as two people figuring things out together. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy gardening, listening to music, being with my family, swimming and experiencing nature.

When you call Synergy Wellbeing, I am usually the first person you speak to. I’m here to help you connect with the best counselor for you and to guide you through the intake process. When we talk, I will learn about what you need to get on a path to healing and growth.
I love helping people and have always been the go-to person for my family and friends when they need someone to talk to, which is what led me to pursue a career in mental health. When I first speak with a potential client, I can hear the concern in their voice. It’s so satisfying to see them later in the office with a smile on their face. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing people thrive and knowing that I played a part in that process. I'm a good listener. Our conversation is confidential. Everything you share with me is between us, with no judgement. The questions I ask and the information you share helps me to better understand who the right counselor for you will be. When you’re ready to take the first step toward living your life better, please give me a call. I look forward to helping you on your journey.

I believe in being client-centered and working collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their goals. I understand that everyone's journey is unique, and I am here to support you on your timeline. Together, we will work towards your goals, using the tools and approaches that are best suited to your needs.
I specialize in working with adults with a focus on couples, families and relationships. I use a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including emotion-focused therapy, EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and strength-based therapy. My journey to becoming a therapist was an unexpected one. With a father who was a writer and director, and a mother who was an actress, I spent most of my life immersed in the creative arts. I studied musical theater, film, and television at Oklahoma City University, and after graduation, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of becoming an actress. But the entertainment industry can be a difficult and unpredictable profession and I struggled with the pressures and uncertainty of the business. It was then that I began to turn my attention to psychology, which had always fascinated me. As an actor, I had to get into the minds of my characters and understand their motivations. I realized that the same principles applied to understanding and helping people in the real world. My journey was also influenced by my personal experience anxiety and panic attacks that began in 7th grade. The help I received from therapists made a big impact on my life and I knew that I wanted to make a difference and help others who were struggling with similar issues. I am passionate about helping people find healing, growth, and fulfillment in their lives. I am here to support you every step of the way, as we embark on this journey together.

My clients are adults who want deep healing from grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other wounds to find wholeness in self and relationships again. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Every journey is different. I help my clients uncover what they may have forgotten and move towards the path of growth and healing.
My practice focuses on grief therapy, dream tending, mindfulness, active imagination, images, and other forms of symbolic expression. Through individual counseling and dream group work, I assist those who are ready to trust their inner guidance and bravely explore the dark. Even the most difficult challenge can hold gifts for us. My journey to becoming a counselor began with a series of devastating losses. After losing my husband and other family members, I felt lost myself. Having always been fascinated by mythology, I saw how these ancient stories could offer comfort and insight into the human experience. As I delved deeper I found my true calling while studying mythology with an emphasis in depth psychology, a practice based in Carl Jung’s psychoanalytic therapy. I pursued certification in loss and trauma from University of the Southwest in New Mexico. I began giving talks on mythology, grief, and death, sharing what I had learned with others who were struggling with their own losses. I am humbled by the stories I hear and the wisdom gained by my clients. If you choose to work with me, I will be with you every step of the way, listening to your story and helping you discover the path to healing and growth.

My great passion has always been helping people, so entering the helping profession was a natural fit for my personality. It’s a privilege for me to help people make their lives better – and the biggest reward is seeing my clients become hopeful about their future by gaining confidence in themselves.
I work with individuals and families who are dealing with either addiction or mental health issues. I treat mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, addiction and intervention issues, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions and spirituality as it applies to recovery. I have a master’s degree in psychology and am a certified Stephen Minister. In that role, I’m a volunteer layman who provides one-to-one pastoral care to those experiencing grief and loss. If we agree to work together, I will listen to you without judgement. I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, so you can expect a range of treatment methods. We will weave together Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, Thought Field Therapy, Narrative Therapy. In my free time, I love working with textiles to create quilted portraits and paintings. Seeing the pieces of cloth come together to form a picture is similar to the therapeutic process. When you experience grief and loss, your life can unravel. I can help you knit together the characteristics that promote clarity, focus, self-confidence, and trust to have and maintain quality of life.
